At InFact, our long-term mission has always been clear: partner with scientists to bring deep tech out of the lab and into the real world - scaling for field deployment and attracting commercial investment.

We are highly motivated to see this approach delivering real value, particularly in the primary sector and in advancing environmental sustainability.

One standout example is our collaboration on Fibre-Gen’s Hitman technology. A sonic tool that grades harvested logs for structural uses like laminated veneer lumber (LVL) and cross-laminated timber (CLT), both sustainable alternatives to traditional construction materials like steel.

Originally developed at Industrial Research Ltd (now Callaghan Innovation), the Hitman HM220i, protected a number of patents, has won a NZ Innovators Award. Today, it connects via mobile app to deliver real-time harvest data directly to forestry operations.

This upgrade has earned the Hitman a spot as a key technology in a major 5-year EU Horizon-funded project focussed on improving the value of the wood supply chain through data-driven stiffness measurement.

We're excited to be working at this intersection of science, technology, and real-world impact.
