The Project

The project team works side-by-side with the client to ensure product functionality, marketability and usability are resolved through proof of concept prototypes. These are tested and refined to ensure all aspects of the solution are understood, key risks are identified and project goals are achieved.

THINK

inFact’s experienced engineers adapted the proven ST300 technology to stand up to the extremely harsh forestry environment.

Custom hydraulic cylinders were developed to meet the tight physical constraints for a range of existing processor head models. Robust industrial strength designed for the extreme harsh forestry environment.

- Design of custom hydraulic cylinders to integrate with existing processor heads;
- Custom hardware for data acquisition;
- Extensive infield testing to validate reliability and real world environment;
- Development of in-cab touch screen UI for system control and data analysis;
- Algorithm optimisation.

LISTEN

Forest companies want to automate every operation for safety and efficiency on the harvest site.

The challenge to fibre-gen was to extend the successful HITMAN hand tools technology platforms to create a processor head mounted system to measure wood stiffness at the point of harvest.

This would allow forestry operator to extract increased value from their assets in a streamline process.

OUTCOME

Successful trials around the world including, Western Australia and Oregon, USA.

The HITMAN PH330 has established itself as a proven technology and inFact are working with key stakeholders to bring this exciting technology into mass production.
