Humanware CPV
Project Objectives
Humanware pioneered the area of hand held electronic magnifiers, but increasing competition had eroded their early lead. The new Colour Pocket Viewer (CPV) project was intended to reclaim their leadership in the low vision market.
Our Approach
A strong focus on the end user and their specialised needs created a concept proposal with a fold out handle, which challenged the client’s original specification and design brief. Iterative user trialling quickly verified that the addition of a handle had value and this was adopted into the specification.
Outcomes
A change in the client’s ownership and funding saw the project transferred off shore, and although not all of the proposed user-centric features made it into the final product, InFact’s suggestion of the fold out handle did carry through to the end result.
