RNZN Training Simulator

Project Objectives

The Combat System Tactical Trainer project involved upgrading the simulation trainer the RNZN use at their Devonport base to train the command team and operational personnel for the ANZAC frigates. The support for the original system had lapsed with a change in company ownership, requiring the designers of the simulator upgrade to reverse engineer the entire system, while modernising the system for future proofing and rationalising the mechanical design for a cost effective result.

Our Approach

InFact’s role was to support the primary communications systems contractor with mechanical engineering and CAD work to reproduce the control panels, interfaces and enclosures as full working replicas.

Outcomes

The simulator panel designs were delivered on time and on budget.  They are now successfully installed and are working exactly as required by the RNZN.
