Navman ICN 550

Project Objectives

This project had a very short lead time of only 3 months between design and shipping which included working with remote suppliers in China. Navman needed a design partner who would successfully manage these design risks and would also deliver a highly refined industrial design solution with a strong emphasis on usability.

Our Approach

Starting with a blank sheet of paper, InFact developed concepts from initial sketches, through to proof of concept models, through to highly finished photographic quality renderings and detailed CAD models. A unique design language was developed which used a recurring wave motif on part lines and around interface controls to suggest the idea of navigating from one place to another along a strongly defined track path.

Pocket-lint gadget reviews “…the actual unit is very easy to use and a vast improvement on Navman’s entry model.”
